This is a vintage British Doll pattern for 6 1/2 " dolls (4 1/2" widest part of body).
It is a short romper with button straps and short sleeved, Peter Pan style collar with button front. Two ply fingering, and a pair of English size 14 knitting needles were used in the original pattern. This classic pattern will be too cute for Ellery or her twin brother (?) or just to use as a basic pattern for your own custom touches.Even though this pattern was originally designed for a hard plastic Thumbsucker Baby Doll, Rosebud (a very popular English made doll) ca. late 40's - early 50's, these patterns will also fit 6 1/2" bisque dolls and other miniature baby dolls that are so popular today like Ellery.
If a smaller size is desired, smaller needles and thread can be used. Larger sizes can be made by increasing needles and yarn, for 8" dolls like Tiny Ann Estelle or Betsy McCall, Ginny, Bitty Bethany, Kishlets, Baby Patsy or Marie Osmond's little mini collections or Riley.
