This is a knit pattern that was designed for a 16 1/2" British Rosebud Doll: "He Is Dressed in The Style Little Prince Charles Has Made So Popular" in 1951. This pattern completes the wardrobe for Little Prince Charles and includes his Undies (undershirt/vest) and Socks and Shoes. This is an incredibly well done pattern.
This was one of several patterns that were designed "in the style of Little Prince Charles" wardrobe for this 16 1/2" doll. The widest measurement of the doll was 11" around. No. 11 & No. 12 English knitting needles (Metric sizes 3 & 2.75 or US sizes 2 & 1) were used. Two and three ply fingering were used in the original pattern. These unique patterns would be perfect for custom designing to create one of a kind garments suitable for a little Prince of a doll or a real live baby boy.
These charming patterns will fit many modern, popular dolls as well and would be wonderful for the exquisite reborn dolls, artist dolls, Bitty Baby Brother, Berenguers, Zapfs, and even for preemies and newborns with only minor adjustments to needle or yarn size.
