This is an elegant tucked Coat and Bonnet knit pattern that was designed for the very popular British Rosebud Twins hard plastic 7 1/2" dolls in the early 1950's.
This pattern consists of a button front coat and bonnet that ties at the chin. The little coat has four horizontal tucks and four tiny buttons. The bonnet ties with matching ribbon. Such attention to detail is rarely seen in modern patterns. Size # 15 UK Needle was used (Metric 1 3/4). Two ply fingering yarn was used in the original pattern.
These charming patterns will fit many modern, popular dolls in sizes from 7 1/2" such as Riley, Ginny, Betsy McCall, Amanda Jane, etc. with only minor adjustments to needle or yarn size.
This pattern would also be suitable for antique Migonnette and/or pocket dolls with only minor changes to this unique pattern.
