This is a vintage English knitting pattern for a Christening set that will fit miniature baby dolls 6" to 6 1/2" tall with a chest measurement 4 1/2" around widest part. The blanket will measure 7 1/4" x 8 " wide.
The original pattern used two ply fingering and a pair each of English No. 12 and No. 14 knitting needles. Pattern consists of four pieces: Christening Dress, Undershirt, Panties, and Blanket.
Even though this pattern was originally designed for a hard plastic Baby Doll, Rosebud (a very popular English made doll) from the early 50's, these patterns will also fit 6" bisque dolls and modern babies like Kish's Ellery and other miniature baby dolls that are so popular today. This set would also be adorable on the sculpted, OOAK babies. If a smaller size is desired, smaller needles and thread can be used.
