This is a knit pattern that was designed for the very popular British Chiltern Twins hard plastic 7 1/2" dolls in the early 1950's.
These vintage knit patterns would customize very easily to American Girl Scout, Brownie, Club or School Uniforms designs.
This pattern consists of two uniforms: The first is a long sleeved dress with collar, tie and hat, designed as a Brownie Uniform. A scrap of leather was used as a belt. The second uniform was designed to be a Girl Guide. It is knitted with a separate skirt in dark blue with matching hat, a tie (shown in green), a lighter blue long sleeved blouse and has instructions for trim.
Needle sizes US #0, English #14, and metric size #2 were used as well as a fine crochet hook. Three ply fingering was used in the original pattern.
These unique patterns will fit many modern, popular dolls in sizes from 7 1/2" such as Riley, Ellery, Ginny, Betsy McCall, Amanda Jane, etc. with only minor adjustments to needle or yarn size.
