This an Original Snow Baby outfit crochet pattern from 1913 for dolls that about 4" tall. Pattern includes directions to make both Snow Baby Suit and Hat in Angora Yarn. This picture is very old from 1913 and was very hard to enhance. This is such a cute outfit for such hard outfits for the cute Snow Babies or other small dollies!!
These patterns were designed for the miniature dolls Snow Baby that were popular during 1913 and continue today. The story of the Snow Baby is very interesting here are some details: While in the Artic on an expedition, the birth of Marie Ahnighito Peary came to be, later she was to become Mrs. Edward Stafford, daughter of the Artic explorer Robert Peary and his wife, Josephine. She attracted the keen interest of Eskimos, Marie's middle name was that of the Eskimo woman who made the child's first fur suit. For years afterward, Marie was called "The Snow Baby". Snow Baby sits 3.12" inches high, but if standing, would be about 4" tall. This pattern is from 1913. The pictures shown from the pattern are very bad, they are old and hard to see detail they are very soft and fuzzy from the Angora yarn for the angel soft look.
These patterns will fit some dolls other than the Snow Baby dolls house dolls like Doll house dolls, Polymer Clay Sculpted babies, Liddle Kiddles, Kewpies, Trolls and many reproduction miniature dolls that are being made now.
If larger needles or yarn is used these could be adjusted to fit larger mini dolls like Ellery.
