This is a knitting pattern that was designed for the very popular British Rosebud Twins hard plastic 6 1/2" dolls in the late 1940's. This is one of the earlier patterns, made when the dolls still had painted eyes.
This pattern consists of a poke bonnet with embroidered flowers on each side of the face, and a long sleeve button front coat that has embroidered trim at the waist. The coat has a fitted waistline and a flared skirt. Bullion stitch embroidery was used to trim the slim waistline and to coordinate with the bonnet.
Needle size English #12 (Metric size 2.75 and US size # 1). Two ply fingering was used in the original pattern. A needle conversion chart and knitting hints for miniature patterns will be included with this pattern. Any doll is ready for winter in this adorable fashionable outfit.
These charming patterns will fit many modern, popular dolls in sizes from 6 1/2" such as Ellery, Riley, Ginny, Betsy McCall, Amanda Jane, Tiny Ann Estelle, etc. with only minor adjustments to needle or yarn size.
