This is an adorable Housecoat (Bathrobe)with tassles knitting pattern that was designed for the very popular British Rosebud Twins hard plastic 7 1/2" dolls in the early 1950's. This pattern consists of a Luxurious Long Housecoat with collar that buttons at the neck, it has front pockets on the sides, and belt tie around waist with pompom tassels. pNeedle size English #13, (US # 1 and metric size #2 1/4") was used. Two ply fingering yarn was used in the original pattern. One tiny button needed for the neck button. This would be adorable with some embroidered flowers on the ends of the belt ties and on the collar or anywhere else, would be a great accessory to the embroidered nightgown pattern.
These patterns will fit many modern, popular dolls in sizes from 7 1/2" such as Riley, Ginny, Betsy McCall, Amanda Jane, etc. with only minor adjustments to needle or yarn size.
