This is a knit pattern that was designed for the very popular British Rosebud Twins hard plastic 6 1/2" dolls in the late 40's and early 1950's.
This pattern consists of a Long Robe (Dressing Gown) and Nightgown: The Dressing Gown has a flared skirt, button front with collar, long sleeves and a "Girdle" (tie belt). The long nightie is sleeveless and trimmed in tiny ribbons. Two-ply fingering yarn was used for this pattern. English knitting needles Size #12(Metric size 2.75 or US size 1) were used. This unique pattern would be perfect for custom designing to create one of a kind miniature garments.
These charming patterns will fit many modern, popular dolls in sizes from 6 1/2" such as Riley, Ginny, Muffie, Betsy McCall, Amanda Jane, etc. with only minor adjustments to needle or yarn size.
