This is a Classic Style knit pattern that was designed for the very popular British Rosebud Twins hard plastic 7 1/2" dolls in the early 1950's. A Reefer Coat with Mittens and Hat.
This pattern consists of a Reefer (or Navy) coat that has a collar at the neck with 3 buttons up front lapel, with flap front pockets. This coat is very detailed with half belt at back waist, and in the back center of the coat is an inverted pleat. This detailed coat even has instructions for the crocheted buttons!! This pattern also includes an adorable striped cap and matching striped mittens.
Needle size English #10 & #14, (US #0 and metric size # ) was used. Two ply fingering yarn was used in the original pattern.
These charming patterns will fit many modern, popular dolls in sizes from 7 1/2" such as Little Ann Estelle, Riley, Ginny, Betsy McCall, Amanda Jane, etc. with only minor adjustments to needle or yarn size.
